Deep Calls To Deep – A poem of Resurrection

Deep Calls To Deep

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19

I was praying this morning over someone in my life, and Psalm 42:7 came to me. Deep calls to deep…when the spirit is in us, even if buried under bitterness, He can resurrect it again and again.  After prayers, I wrote down this poem as it was impressed upon me. This truth I know – the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is manifold – both in His defeat of death on the cross – and His vanquishing of sin’s death in us. Amen and Amen

Deep calls to deep Lord
Thus I know that buried in the seabed of her heart
is the deposit of your spirit
A faith that saves, but a bitterness that drowns

Deep calls to deep Lord
Dilute the hot tears of her remorse
Bathe her in your fresh pools of mercy
Whisper her name so that only she can hear

Deep calls to deep Lord
Restore her shipwrecked heart
from the depths of her transgressions
Cast them far and wide to be found no more

Deep calls to deep Lord
Cradle your daughter in the palm of your Hand
Walk with her through the rising tides
Cleanse her garments from red to white

Deep calls to deep Lord
Remind your loved one that you are sovereign
That it is you alone, who calms the storm
Who quiets the child

Deep calls to deep Lord
Resurrect her soul; answer my petitions on her behalf
Renew her darkness
To once again walk in the dawn of your everlasting love
